چکیده

The “Object Constraint Language” (OCL) offers a formal notation for constraining model elements in UML diagrams. OCL consists of a navigational expression language which, for instance, can be used to state invariants and preand post-conditions in class diagrams. We discuss some problems in ensuring non-local, navigating OCL class invariants, as for bidirectional associations, in programming language implementations of UML diagrams, like in Java. As a remedy, we propose a component-based system specification method for using OCL constraints, distinguishing between global component invariants and local class invariants.

Using Reflection to Implement in Maude a Rewriting-Based Validation Tool for UML+OCL Static Class Diagrams

In this paper we present the ITP/OCL tool, a rewritingbased tool that supports automatic validation of UML static class diagrams with respect to OCL invariants. From a conceptual point of view, the ITP/OCL tool is directly based on the equational specification of UML+OCL class diagrams developed in [11], according to which: i) class and object diagrams are specified as membership equational the...

Automatically Binding Variables of Invariants to Violating Elements in an OCL-Aligned XBase-Language

Constraints that have to hold for all models of a modeling language are often specified as invariants using the Object Constraint Language (OCL). If violations of such invariants shall be documented or resolved in a software system, the exact model elements that violate these conditions have to be computed. OCL validation engines provide, however, only a single context element at which a check ...

Translating Essential OCL Invariants to Nested Graph Constraints Focusing on Set Operations

Domain-specific modeling languages (DSMLs) are usually defined by meta-modeling where invariants are defined in the Object Constraint Language (OCL). This approach is purely declarative in the sense that instance construction is not incorporated but has to added. In contrast, graph grammars incorporate the stepwise construction of instances by applying transformation rules. Establishing a forma...
